Client TestimonialsMaree Gawley (Australia)I have just got back to Australia and watched my video of my day at Coveca. I can not thank you and your team enough for the special day. Everyone was so welcoming and my 2 lessons were euphoric. I did movements on a horse that I have never done and probably wont for quite some time. Eduardo was a brilliant teacher and Joe was outstanding interpreting and showing us around. All your horses are beautiful and so well trained, I still tremble with excitement every time I think of riding on that day. Could you please pass on our compliments to Joe, should he or Eduardo ever get the chance to come to Australia it would be our pleasure to have them stay. I am doing a story of my day in our riding school newsletter, so hopefully they will contact you if travelling thru Spain, if not I will be definitely back. Thank you again and please pass on my regards to Joe, Eduardo and team. Fiona FoyThank you to everyone at Coveca for such a great few days. It was everything I expected and asked for, and did me a world of good! I wanted to be somewhere I could train seriously, not just play around looking pretty on nice horses, and I definitely found it with Eduardo and all the team and the horses at Coveca. As a professional myself, I know that there are three main ingredients for a successful training course. First, the atmosphere has to be positive, and welcoming. At Coveca from the moment I arrived, I was made to feel very welcome and the centre is professional but friendly. Second, the horses have to be of the right calibre and well trained. All the horses that I rode were willing and very well trained, submissive and soft but with plenty of energy and power. Thirdly and most importantly, the training has to be first class and Eduardo is a gifted and knowledgeable trainer. His explanations were always clear and he never makes anything complicated. I had to work hard, which I expected but good results were always encouraged and rewarded as they should be. I am looking forward to my next visit when I hope it will be a little warmer! Infante the Wonder BoyHi -- Just couldn't wait to share the latest news on Infante. As you know, he's down here in Wellington, Florida. We took him to his first show at the Jim Brandon Center. Its was a pretty big show with lots of activity. Marcel wanted to test him to see how he adjusts to the environment. Marcel was riding him. His demeanor was wonderful. As he entered the busy warmup ring, he looked around but very quickly went to work. This boy loves to work. His very first test he received at 65% and second place. The next day he did even better with a 68%. I'm already having inquiries about him. I know you sell a lot of horses, but this could be your best match. Love him. Please tell Mr. Ovelar his good breeding pays off and tell Eduardo his training is the best. Carolyn Casano Natasja van Oerle & family - HollandWe are very grateful! How we enjoyed the hospitality, the beautiful Spanish horses and the warm and loving welcome. During the autumn holidays we left with our whole family for a Coveca Training Course. We have learned an awful lot. Both Miriam and Eduardo shared their passion for classical riding with us. Nothing is too much for José, Clara, Laura, Juan and all the other assistants. A big thank you to all of you! It is a privilege to be allowed to ride these fantastic horses. The professional and critical instruction is very valuable. In spite of our long standing experience with the Spanish horse, we came home with a big bag of new knowledge, tips and useful experience. We shall be back soon! Carlijn sends a kiss to VELAOR. With warm regards from Dirk Natasja, Renèe and Carlijn. Hartelijke groet, Original Text: Onze dank is heel erg groot! Wij komen snel weer! Een kusje voor Velaor van Carlijn. Warme groeten van Dirk, Natasja, Renée en Carlijn. Marga - HollandIn September 2010 , when I bought my wonderful stallion IL DIVO (ex KARIN IX) at the Yeguada Ovelar, I knew one thing certain. I wanted to come back again to get to know more about this fantastic breed. But I also wanted to experience the training methods , both under saddle and in hand. Last September the time had come, and nervously, I left the hotel for the Coveca Training Center. The atmosphere of the Spanish horses reaches one immediately - a lovely feeling! After a friendly welcome from staff and through the tremendous hospitality, my nerves disappeared quickly. In the stables there is a pleasant atmosphere ,and everybody is busy with their daily activities - there is a lot to be taken in. Horses are being washed, plaited, lunged and ridden. Here I could taste the passion and love for these noble Spanish horses. My schoolmaster PRESUMIDO was waiting for me, looking impressive, beautifully plaited and bandaged. So , my lesson could start ..... The professional lessons were given by Eduardo, assisted by Miriam and by Jose, an apprentice and pupil of Eduardo, who translated the Spanish instruction into English. In spite of my long riding experience, there were some basic mistakes to be corrected which was done successfully. I was given the opportunity to ride several horses, one inexperienced, one very sensitive, and one fully trained horse. It is a wonderful experience to feel the Spanish walk and an almost perfect piaffe. The in hand lessons were extremely interesting too - I could not wait to get home to try all these techniques with my own horse. I was also present at some higher level training sessions, which is always an inspiring experience. In all, it was a very successful and pleasant course, and I thank all Coveca staff for their assistance medewerkers van Coveca. Lessons with Eduardo, Miriam and FelipeI'm glad that I've found Coveca website and decided to come, because my stay there was definitely the best riding experience in my life. During my 2 week stay at Coveca center I had lessons with Eduardo, Miriam and Felipe, accompanied by Jose, who was translating, because unfortunately my Spanish is even less than basic. The horses were extremely well mannered and trained. I didn't expect I would be able to do so advanced movements like Piaffe and Passage as my dressage exprience is scarce, but with the help of Eduardo it turned out possible even for such an amateur like me. I am rather a recreational rider and it was my first contact with classical dressage at Coveca, so the initial lessons were pretty hard for me : I had to work on my position a lot and get rid of bad habits which I gained through years of riding alone, my condition also wasn't in the best shape. But at the end my seat was better thanks to professional instructors and wonderful horses. All the classes I had at coveca were very valuable for me. They not only improved my riding but also showed me what I should aim at while working with horses. I can recommend lessons at Coveca to everybody who loves horses and wants to impove their riding skills. I would also like to thank all the Coveca team for their help during my stay there. Iga, Poland Lessons with Miriam and EduardoFrom my first contact I have found my experience with the Coveca team very professional. I received prompt replies to my emails that were very detailed, and Miriam was more than happy to answer any questions that I had, whether they were related to Coveca or not. I was asked to take video footage so they could specifically tailor my lessons so that I could get the most out of each lesson, especially so that I would be able to take what I learnt back and apply it to my own horse. The majority of my lessons were taken by Miriam, where I spent a lot of time improving my canter work, shoulder in and learning half pass, the other times I was taught my Eduardo where I worked on Spanish walk and Piaffe. During some of my later lessons, Miriam started me on a different horse which allowed me to work on extended trot and some collected canter. All four of the horses I rode at Coveca were impeccably schooled and well mannered, and were a delight to ride, especially once you got to know the horses. I really noticed the improvement in my riding over the 8 lessons that I had, and would highly recommend going to Coveca and having a few lessons if you can, as I would love to go back at some point to further my riding ability. I would also like to say thank you to the Coveca team for all the help they have given me. Charlotte Cooke - UK JAREÑO XI - U.S.A.JAREÑO arrived safely in Austin today. We appreciate all your help in helping us find him and shipping him to Austin. My daughter, Alexandra, is already talking about getting an Andalucian horse. So another trip to Spain is in our future as she gets older. We've gotten many complements on JAREÑO at the barn in Austin. Thank Mr. Ovelar for us for all his help. Tell him we will do our best to promote the Yeguada Ovelar name in Texas. My Riding Lesson at COVECAMy riding lesson was fantastic. I arranged the lesson via email from country Western Australia. My riding experience is limited having had my first horse ride at 40 years and then riding untrained horses. In my email I asked if I could get a lesson on a trained horse and be shown lateral and collected work. The horse I rode is JAREÑO, a 9-year-old breeding stallion trained in high school movements. My instructors were Miriam and Eduardo. Miriam took me through Shoulder-in and Travers. She, along with JAREÑO helped me feel what it was like to effectively ride inside leg to outside rein and not using my reins to steer. Eduardo had me sitting to Piaffe and Passage – my first time riding these collected movements. I confess I was pretty hopeless cantering on JAREÑO yet Miriam and Eduardo gave me plenty of opportunity to better my efforts. After the riding lesson Felipe took me on a tour of the facilities and breeding stock, including looking at a number of JAREÑO‘s 2-3 year old foals. I can highly recommend a lesson at Coveca. And, if you don’t know Spanish don’t worry as the instructors and others at Coveca speak numerous languages. Rick Murray ISLEÑO LXXXII - GermanyDear Miriam, This is to say Thank you to the team of COVECA for the wonderful horses that we have found there. We just recently bought our third horse, ISLEÑO, and again we were absolutely convinced by the quality of their horses as well as the very professional horse management. We especially appreciate the combination of outstanding dressage potential and a very good character which make the COVECA horses so wonderful - both for ambitious dressage riders and people who just want to ride for pleasure. The handling, care and education that the COVECA horses receive is on a very high level, so one can be sure to get a well behaving, healthy horse that will easily adapt to his new surroundings. Knowing the OVELAR studfarm and COVECA for more than 3 years now, we can recommend their horses and services without restriction of any kind. Dagmar Pielok INFANTE XXXI - USAHi Miriam, "The Prince" has arrived after a very difficult journey from quarantine. There was flash flooding and lightning storms and the New York State Thruway was closed. A trip that would normally take 3 was was 6 and a half hours. However, he came off the trailer as calm and elegant as I remember him. I had to walk him down a very long dirt road that was flooded and he was a perfect gentleman. Please tell Felipe and Eduardo they have done a wonderful job with him and I will try my hardest not to spoil him. My friends at the farm are amazed at his good looks and gentle demeanor. Please tell Mr. Ovelar that I believe he will be a wonderful ambassador. Thanks for everything. A Very Very Happy Customer Carolyn |
