COVECA Course Options

CLASSICAL DRESSAGE & SPANISH HIGH SCHOOL COURSE

Tuition can cover a choice of the following levels :

basic dressage : correct classical seat, transitions between walk, trot and canter, basic aids, riding through the corners, performing circles and other figures etc
medium level : lateral work, starting collection, extensions
advanced level : passage, piaffe, flying changes, Spanish walk
lunge lessons :to improve the rider's seat

The Dressage and High School programme includes (daily):

private riding lesson(s), duration of approx. one hour per lesson
on the same day : optional ride(s) under the guidance of the head rider or his assistant during group training sessions of COVECA riders for those clients that have shown sufficient riding experience
watching the training of COVECA horses at all levels
watching further activities at the stud farm
guidance on horse management

WORK IN HAND

Learn how to introduce your horse to work in hand – starting with basic exercises and obedience followed by the introduction to teaching advanced movements like Piaffe, Passage and Spanish Walk

Duration of private lessons : approx. 30 minute

INTRODUCTION TO THE SPANISH HORSE

COVECA offers you the opportunity to come and meet our beautiful Spanish Pure Breed horses and experience the joy of riding them.

Many people express the wish to get to know the breed before they can consider purchasing one of these wonderful horses.

These courses are only available for (small) groups. Coveca can accommodate individual participants to join other clients who also have expressed interest in this option.

The Introduction Programme includes (daily) :

private lesson : dressage or basic riding lesson(s) at the level of your choice, duration of approx. one hour per lesson
An introduction to in hand presentation
Horse management : including feeding , plaiting of the mane , grooming , tips for turn out and daily routine, information on saddles and bits, etc.
A visit of the stud farm : meeting the mares , breeding stallions and foals

MORPHOLOGY AND SHOWING TECHNIQUES

COVECA programmes contain - for groups only - a very special course on the Morphology of the Pure Bred Spanish horse and showing techniques.

Tuition will include guidance on the training of the horse for its participation in conformation classes and presentation techniques - which are closely linked to a profound knowledge of the morphologic characteristics of the breed.

Horse care and management aspects which are necessary to produce a horse up to competition standard will also be included in the programme.

HOLIDAY RIDING IN SPAIN

Not all is serious dressage training at the COVECA training Center.

If you would just like to go for a holiday and do some riding under the guidance of an instructor, we can also cater for that possibility.

Indeed, your family might want to undertake different activities while you are meeting the Spanish horses. In Aranjuez, Toledo, Madrid and the surrounding area you will find interesting and entertaining options for a family holiday.

Warner Park is not far away or, perhaps, a visit to the Golf Jardin of Aranjuez. Also, located near the golf course on the outskirts of Aranjuez, the Hotel Barceló Aranjuez has a Casino, paddle courts and Spa.
